SING/ RHYME:

I Have a Little Snowman
I have a little snowman who has no clothes to wear,
So I'll Give him a black hat, because he has no hair.
I have a little snowman who has no clothes to wear,
So I'll give him a bright red scarf, since I have one to share.
I have a little snowman who has no clothes to wear,
So I'll give him blue boots, a nice, war,, woolly pair.
Now my little snowman has lots of clothes to wear,
And I hope that my snowman knows how much I care. Originally by submitted by Deborah Garmon

Action Rhyme: I Built a Snowman

I built a little snowman (make large circle with arms)
He had a carrot nose (point to nose)
Along came a bunny (hold up to bent fingers)
And what do you suppose? (shrug)
That hungry little bunny (make bunny again)
Looking for his lunch (hop bunny around)
Ate the snowman’s nose (pretend bunny is eating nose)
Nibble! Nibble! Crunch! (pretend to be eating a carrot)

Fingerplay: “Five Little Snowmen”
Five little snowmen standing in a row,
Standing straight and tall in the deep, cold snow.
Out came the sun, shining bright and hot all day,
And one little snowman melted away.

Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the Snowman
was a jolly happy soul.
With a corn cob pipe
and a button nose
and Two eyes made out of coal.

Frosty the Snowman
is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow,
but the children know
how he came to life one day.

There must have been some magic
in that old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head,
he began to dance around.

Oh, Frosty the Snowman
was alive as he could be,
And the children say
he could laugh and play
just the same as you and me.

Thumpety, thump, thump,
thumpety, thump, thump.
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpety, thump, thump,
thumpety, thump, thump.
Over the hills of snow.

Five Little Snowmen
(Author Unknown)
Five little snowmen standing in a row,
Each had a hat and a big red bow.
Out came the sun and it shone all day,
One little snowman melted away.

Four little snowmen standing in a row . . .
Three little snowmen standing in a row . . .
Two little snowmen standing in a row . . .
One little snowman standing a row . . .

S Is for Snowman
(Author Unknown)

S is for snowman
Round and fat.
Sitting outside,
Wearing a hat.

I brought him inside,
And sat him on the mat.
And before very long,

The snowman was flat.

Build a Snowman
to the tune of "Oh My Darling Clementine"
Build a snowman,
Build a snowman,
Build a snowman,
Big and round.
Shape three snowballs, different sizes
Stack them tall, then add a face.

Dress the snowman,
Dress the snowman,
Dress the snowman,
Big and round.
Dress him in last winter's clothes,
Tie his scarf and add a cap.

When the sun,
When the sun,
When the sun
Shines so bright,
Watch him melt and disappear
Never to return again.

Save his clothes,
Save his clothes,
Save his clothes,
Don't throw them out!
Soon the snow will fall again.

Another snowman will be born.

Snowflakes, Snowflakes
to the tune of "Are You Sleeping?"
Snowflakes, snowflakes,
Snowflakes, snowflakes,
All around,
All around--
Whirling, twirling snowflakes,
Whirling, twirling snowflakes,
Hit the ground,
Hit the ground.

Snowball Poem
by Shel Silverstein
I made myself a snow ball as perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas and a pillow for it's head.
Then, last night it ran away.

But first -- it wet the bed.
