SING/ RHYME/ MOVEMENT:

WADDLE LIKE A PENGUIN!
http://www.preschoolexpress.com/images/brown_bullet.gif
Have your children waddle like penguins over pretend ice, holding out their arms as they go.
http://www.preschoolexpress.com/images/brown_bullet.gif
Encourage them to slip and slide on the ice, as well.

PENGUIN WADDLE Dance

This activity is a Penguin version of the “Hokey Pokey”

http://www.preschoolexpress.com/images/green_bullet.gif
Have your children stand in a circle and do the actions to the song as you sing.
You put your right wing in, you take your right wing out,
You put your right wing in and you waddle all about.
You do the Penguin Waddle and you turn yourself around.
And that’s what it’s all about!

Continue singing about other body parts, such as; left wing, right foot, left foot, and head.

PENGUIN SONGS

LITTLE PENGUINS
Tune:  “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”
Little penguins, black and white
On the ice, what a sight!
See them waddle, see them glide.
Watch them as they slip and slide.
Little penguins, black and white
On the ice, what a sight!
Little penguins, black and white
On the ice, what a sight!
See them dive in the water blue,
See them catch a fish or two.
Little penguins, black and white
On the ice, what a sight!

I’M A LITTLE PENGUIN credit: Preschool express
Jean Warren
Tune:  “I’m A Little Teapot”
I’m a little penguin short and stout.
I flap my wings and waddle about.
I wear a coat that’s black as night.
But my big tummy is soft and white.
I’m a little penguin black and white.
I like to waddle across the ice.
When I reach the water, I dive right in.
I hunt for fish, as I swim, swim, swim.
