Earth and Earth Day (includes recycling) Sunday April 22 (Updated with more activities)

Earth, Earth Day and

Recycling
Talk:
What do your preschoolers know about their environment? This is a good time to  talk about animals or plants or other parts of the natural world. I suggest also talking about how to take care of the world. April 22 is Earth Day, a natural time to talk about caring for the world.

Clean Up  Credit Preschool education.com
Sung to: "Twinkle, twinkle, little star"

Twinkle twinkle little star
Time to clean up where you are.
Put litter back in its place,
Keep a smile upon your face.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
Time to clean up where you are.

Litter Bugs Credit Preschool education.com
Sung to: "Frere Jacques"

We're not litterbugs
We're not litterbugs,
No siree, no siree!
We pick up our trash,
We pick up our trash,
Yes siree, yes siree!

Pick it up!
(To London Bridge)
See the litter?  Pick it up!
Pick it up!  Pick it up!
See the litter?  Pick it up!
We’re not litterbugs!

Draw on Coffee filters with blue and green markers and then use a spray bottle to spritz with water- do not get them too wet with the water (as the water hits it will be a watercolor effect)

Do Things outside- go for a nature walk in your neighborhood or nearby park- help to pick up trash! Plant a tree or plant flowers, weed, and take better care of the earth.

Recycle or reuse old cardboard boxes or bottles, bottle tops etc for a recycled art project. Build a robot, paint with the recycled materials.
